A landscaping relationship that began with laying turf for the Queen’s visit

Case Study

Scofell teams have a contract with Newbury Racecourse, and regularly carry out landscaping services, including planting trees, shrubs and flowers.

Our relationship with the racecourse began in 2017, after we were called in at the last minute to source and lay some specialist turf in the new pre-parade ring. Her Majesty the Queen, a keen visitor to Newbury Races, was due to attend the flat race meet a few days later. Scofell’s landscapers installed the turf, which was established and thus ready for use, and – you might say – saved the day.

Newbury Racecourse has been a client of Scofells ever since. Recent projects include tree and hedge planting, remedial tree work, and landscaping around the Royal Box, including a new planting scheme.

A new children’s nursery has also been built on the site, and Scofell carried out the soft landscaping around it, including trees, shrubs and turf.
